Have you tried Medifast, Slimfast, Optifast, Fast n Furious? Short answer is NO. It’s not for me.
You won’t see my lbs melt off FAST like the bad guys faces in Raiders of the Lost Ark. I am committed to only make changes that I will bend the knee and commit to for the rest of my life.

I will walk every morning for at least 5,000 steps, so far I average 6,500. And reach 10,000 before bedtime, so far I average 12,000.
I can eat whatever I want as long as I have mathematically worked for it. I didn’t get chunky because I don’t like food. I freaking love food. I love healthy and unhealthy food equally. I am not prejudice at all. A nice mixed green salad with cranberries, nuts and goddess dressing with a side of chicken biscuit crackers and cheese wiz about sums up my flavor.
I like the Fitbit because I can easily track calories out and in. More calories out than in daily. Of course I know it’s not exact but I really do strive to be honest with my portions. I can also make different choices looking at my macronutrients. I can commit to doing this better.
My wife laughs her ass off when she sees me walking back and forth in our back room really fast like a chunky model from Zoolander with absolutely no fashion sense.

“Babe what the hell are you doing?” – as I still keep my pace and maybe even faster I yell “Is that Thai or tacos in that bag you just brought in?” – she laughs and replies “You need a treadmill because you look silly.”
She is right. I do need a treadmill. One of this chunk a monks greatest motivation to work out more is the prospect of eating. It’s just math. I can handle math.
No fads, no diets, no pills, shortcuts, temporary anything – just a forever for the rest of my life style change.
We have gotten so use to seeing drastic weight losses. I don’t want to do this in a few months and gain it all back in a few weeks.
I made a two year goal. I am ok taking all of that time. Every step I take I remind myself I have earned another step in this life time to be with my family and friends and community. Well that and lasagna.

Being fit is about way more than being thin. It’s about feeling energized and able. It’s about living a healthy long life. Weight loss and food addiciton, to me, are separate battles.
You’re fighting the good fight.
