Get the Gear

I have no more time on my life clock for excuses. Instead I have employed the philosophy of the song HOLE IN THE BUCKET by Harry Belafonte. 

Step 1. Motivation – One step today for another step in the future. 

Gotta count my steps so I started with the step counter on my phone. I quickly realized I wanted more. How much sleep am I really getting? How many calories am I really eating vs how many I am burning? I sprung for the #fitbit – 💯 worth it. This is just math. I can do math. I connect with friends, track my sleep and daily routines. That little fireworks display and vibration on my wrist when I reach my goal each day is weirdly desired. 
Step 2. Time – Many of us have convince ourselves there is no time #matrix – I was sure there were no minutes on the clock – truth is – each step I take I am creating more time. So I found it @ #darkoh30am . Before anyone is awake, even the sun I have found this place that I have all to myself (and my dog). Reflective jacket for me and him. Shoe lights help to avoid trips and avoid other people’s dog shit from the night before. @nightrunner270 shoe lights also aide in keeping nocturnal predators from being surprised and attacking me (my wife’s fear, not mine). 
Step 3 – Chunky Monkey (CM) weight on knees, ankle and hips. No lie, the first month it hurt like hell. It has gotten better. I also have better gear. I invested in really good shoes and then added gel inserts to absorb some of my CM pounding down. I also got a light knee support to help @AGPTEK just goes under my knee and helps out. 
Step 4 – Weather – Invested in a light wind breaker/ rain jacket – for me and the dog. 
More obstacles will emerge I am sure. There’s a hole in the bucket – so I get the gear and keep on going. Just over 60 days of 10,000 plus steps – This is a life style change.
